Hampton Roads Writers Annual Conference — Workshops, best-selling keynoters, critique sessions, agent and/or publisher pitches, contests for short fiction, short nonfiction, and poetry. Admission includes complimentary cocktail social, and open mic. Optional WRITER’S BOOT CAMP SESSION (pre-conference), and optional MASTER’S SESSION (pre-conference). A book shop, book signings, and many networking opportunities. Fantastic event. Worth every cent. I’ve attended every single one for the last seven or eight years.

VQR Writers’ Conference — This event, hosted by VQR Magazine, is designed for serious writers at all stages of their careers looking for inspiration and camaraderie. Attendees must apply for admission, and must submit work for review. Deadlines apply. Pricing and details on their site.
